Designed in 1959 by John Lawrence Pugsley AIA from the USC School of Architecture, this classic midcentury is located in Pasadena’s coveted Linda Vista neighborhood. Perched above the Arroyo with expansive views, this architectural gem features walls of glass, a koi pond, a Japanese garden with outdoor shower, a dramatic atrium, and stunning interior stone work. Combining iconic midcentury details with modern amenities, this indoor outdoor home features designer fixtures, a cook’s kitchen with European appliances, breakfast room, formal dining room, media room, wood floors, central air and heat, stone fireplace, and recessed lighting indoors and out. An entertainer’s delight with an expansive multi-level deck, built-in BBQ and spa, indoor /outdoor sound system, outdoor fireplace, lush landscaping with mature oaks and automatic lighting and sprinkler systems. A midcentury oasis nestled in the trees, yet close to Pasadena’s Old Town, Downtown LA, and Burbank studios.

Our clients, the Sellers, loved their midcentury home, but decorated it in a more traditional manner while living in the property. They realized the property would command much more attention when put on the market if it was presented in a manner more authentic to its architectural provenance. We helped them get packed up and ready to move. We selected furniture and decor from their collection and supplemented with other pieces to stage and present the property in a manner more consistent with the home’s authentic midcentury architectural style. We coordinated an estate sale and designed and oversaw a mini renovation that included new paint, carpet, refacing kitchen cabinets, tile work and landscaping to make the property look its best when it came to market. When the house came to market and sold it looked like the original midcentury modern gem the architect John Lawrence Pugsley designed it to be.
